Prenatal Lactation Consultation

$275  |  In Home & Virtual  |  1-1.5hrs

This visit includes obtaining a full history of your current pregnancy and any past pregnancies you’ve had along with your past postpartum experiences. An in depth overview of your feeding goals, what to expect those first few days with your newborn, advice on how to advocate for yourself. This is great for any family - first baby or 3rd baby - I can give you a customized plan. Not sure how you’re going to breastfeed with a crazy toddler at home? I got you…Also great for those that want more education on different feeding options in those early days and especially those mamas who had a difficult time nursing a prior baby. During this visit - we can discuss your pump, gadgets, bottle systems, pacifiers, ect. Any questions you may have - I’m here for you!

You will also have access to me while you are still in the hospital after you deliver and can contact me via text/call before discharge to schedule your initial lactation consultation. For those that book a prenatal visit - I have special pricing for clients that re-book with me once baby is born.

Initial Lactation Consultation

In Home — $375  |  2-3 hours

This visit can be lengthy averaging at about 2-2.5 hours. It includes getting a thorough health history for both mom & baby, a complete oral assessment looking for any tethered oral tissue that could be impacting breastfeeding, observation and assessment of an entire nursing session with a pre/post weight check to assess milk transfer, a personalized and customized plan for YOUR baby and family - all faxed to both mom & baby’s healthcare provider.

At this visit - I also review all of your “equipment,” so to speak. I will show you how to bottle your baby, what bottles I recommend if you do not have them already, show you how to use your pump, explain your breast pump parts and what they do, explain how to wash them and how often, answer any questions you have about breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, newborn sleep & more.

This visit also comes with text support for 1 week after the visit. I understand that as a new parent….you can forget, or you realize when I walk out the door you have a follow up question…or something new comes up! I will not leave you hanging!

**If I have never met with you or your baby before - this appointment is for you

Follow Up Consultation

In Home — $325  |  Virtual — $275  |  1.5-2hrs

This visit is a continuation of our initial visit. It will check on goals we set in previous visit, assess our plan we created and address any possible new concerns. Depending on your initial consultation - sometimes follow-up visits are highly recommended and encouraged (i.e. if we have concerns about low supply, poor weight gain for baby, nipple shield use or those I gave a triple feeding plan to - I usually need to see you again in 5-7 days to re-assess).

This follow up visit can be 3 days after our initial or 3, 6 or 9 months later. Distracted feeding with your 6 month old that’s learning the world around him? Let me help you!

Christine is in network with Aetna & Cigna and works with The Lactation Network (TLN). There is an additional fee for home visits for Cigna & TLN clients.

All clients are provided with a Superbill, which is an insurance “receipt” (with the exception of Aetna, Cigna and TLN) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Through the Affordable Care Act - it is required for your insurance to either reimburse or cover lactation care although it is not always straight forward.

Payment is required at time of service.  Payment is completed through my secure client portal, Simple Practice, where my payment, practice and cancellation policies are outlined.

Please contact me for pricing for office and Telehealth consultations. With Cigna and TLN clients, there is no fee for office or telehealth visits, only for home visits.
